DESCRIPTION

The Delight Coffee Table is the meeting point of two materials. With a touch of nostalgia and unexpected elegance, it feels unknown yet familiar — a piece to gather around, to notice, to contemplate. Crafted from walnut and aluminum, the table plays with the dialogue between warmth and coolness, softness and rigidity. Its form appears gentle and fluid, while its materials remain grounded and architectural, creating a sculptural tension that anchors the piece.

Drawing from artists who blur the boundary between art and function, the table explores what happens when contrasting materials converge in unexpected harmony. Influences from culinary culture and the rituals of hosting add a quiet intimacy to it. The result is an object that feels both refined and approachable, becoming a small sculptural centerpiece for gathering and delight.

Personal InfluenceDuring its development, I found myself revisiting old slide photographs of my nana — her life near the sea, the European furniture her father shipped home, and the joy she took in bringing people together around food. In those images, I began noticing a recurring theme of scalloped forms: subtle, expressive details that carried softness, elegance, and celebration. Those shapes became a quiet influence within the design.

In many ways, this table is a dedication to her. Just as she created spaces filled with warmth, beauty, and connection, the Delight Coffee Table brings together walnut and aluminum in a single, expressive form to relect on memory, material, and meaning.
